Practice Areas

Mr. Oliver concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation and insurance defense.

Jonathan was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2002 and to the Kentucky Bar in 2008. Mr. Oliver is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of Illinois and the Western District of Kentucky.

Mr. Oliver practiced in Illinois for 5 1/2 years before joining Whitlow, Roberts, Houston & Straub in July 2008.  He has considerable and wide-ranging general practice and litigation experience in both Illinois and Kentucky.

Jonathan was born and raised in Lyon County, Kentucky.  Upon graduation from law school, he entered private practice in Southern and Southeastern Illinois.  In July 2008, he returned to Western Kentucky and joined Whitlow, Roberts, Houston & Straub.

Mr. Oliver is a graduate of Murray State University (BA) in 1997 and Southern Illinois University School of Law (JD) in 2002.  While at SIU, he served as a member of the Moot Court Board and won several awards at various moot court competitions.

Jonathan is a member of the Kentucky, Illinois, McCracken County and American Bar associations. He is also a member of Kentucky Defense Counsel, the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. Jonathan serves on the board of the Paducah Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and as a volunteer for the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce Total Resource Campaign (2011).
