He is admitted to practice in all courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit
Experience
Mr. Sigler has tried more than 25 civil jury trials throughout western Kentucky, in addition to handling over 200 special and general courts martial and dozens of criminal jury trials during his naval career. He has experience in medical malpractice defense, manufacturing defect claims, automobile defense, fire loss, products liability defense, premises law and toxic tort claims.
Background
Jim was born on December 8, 1961 in Henderson, Kentucky. In 1988 he was commissioned an officer in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. He served on active duty from 1988-1991. In December 1990 he was deployed to Operation Desert Storm as Staff Judge Advocate for the Commanding Officer ASU Bahrain until May 1991. From 1991 to 1999 Mr. Sigler practiced with a regional defense law firm. He joined Whitlow, Roberts, Houston & Straub, PLLC as a Member in 1999. He currently serves as Chair of the firm's litigation section.
Education
Mr. Sigler earned a B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 1984 and J.D. from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1988.
Associations and Service
Jim is Chairman of the Paducah/McCracken County Convention Center Corporation and a member of the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Baptist Foundation. He is a past president of the Paducah Rotary Club and has served on the Board of Directors of the Paducah Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Paducah (Co-Campaign Chair 1999) and the Carson Four Rivers Center for the Performing Arts. He is a member of the McCracken County Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Kentucky Defense Counsel and Defense Research Institute, Inc.
